A couple of people have asked, so I thought I would reply to the group
and say that I did indeed see the shuttle as it went over last night.
Bill Merritt also reported that he took a trip out to Cedar Point and
had a very good look at it.
It appeared about 7 minutes after launch and was higher on the horizon
than I expected. As Bill put it, it was "about a fist and a half"
high. I watched it for about 2 minutes before it disappeared behind a
thick line of trees. It was orange and moving at roughly the same
speed as the ISS when it goes over. Once it appeared, it was very
easy to identify because it was very bright. I have seen the ISS fly
overhead many times, but this was my first time spotting a shuttle
launch. Very cool stuff!!! I hope you saw it too!
