All,
I just received an update from Randy with times and
freq's for this weekend. If you have some spare time,
please try to contact the NWS office so they can get a
good feel for the Southern MD coverage using VHF
simplex/repeaters and HF SSB.

I have attached the recent update from Randy and the
original email sent out by JD.

73,
Rob - N2OMC
St. Mary's County EC

-------------------------------------------------------

Rob, Thanks for making contact... On HF we will
probably be located on or around 3.960, 7.260 or
possibly 7.240, and 14.260 although we could be at
other areas as we will still be mandated by clear
frequencies. On VHF we will be trying to work into the
SoMD area on the 985 repeater on Saturday as well as
SSB around 144.200. The weather is giving us fits, so
I'm not sure about operating times. We are going to
have to do some antenna work tomorrow morning, so
probably don't expect us to show up on the repeaters
until around 11am. Thanks again!

As the two comments below confirm, our emphasis this
year on VHF/UHF is really quite important, beyond the
fun of SRD. We will really have a chance to see what
the potential is in line-of-sight communication
from NWS Sterling.

We will be looking for some operators to commit to
this particular work. While we will have the option of
going all night, I don't think there will be much
happening late at night until early in the morning.
Please let us know if you can work one or more of the

following times on VHF/UHF, so we can try to refine
a rough schedule:

Friday evening
7pm - 9pm:
9pm - 11pm:

Saturday
7am - 9am:
9am - 11am:
11am - 1pm:
1pm - 3pm:
