Greetings folks.....

Well it was a big day today.... The Panthers won... And the county won as
well.  Ray, KB3FWW got his TELPAC station up today!  For right now he is
running under KB3FWW-10 on 145.750 12Kpbs and I am running W3BNY-10 on
145.01  Get envolved with WINLINK.  The software is free and if the crap
hits the fan, you can self serve not only yourself but your area of the
county!

Here is the rub folks.  What are we going to do in this county if the
"balloon" goes up.  Be it Hurricane, Flooding, Snow, Ice, Woodchucks.....
What is the county plan.  How are we going to contact each other.  Yeah,
when a hurricane of blight of woodchucks rears its ugly head.... everyone
comes out of the woodwork....  That's great, nice and wow, we haven't heard
from you in ages.... truthfully, we need you now!  You a CB'er... We want
you too!  FRS guy... GMRS guy....  Welcome aboard..  The goal for this
county is to help ourselves or get help for ourselves.  No matter how!  We
cant depend on FEMA to bail us out (as recently observed).  So its up to us.
No, I'm not asking you to run into the disaster zone in the county... that's
stupid.  we are not first responders...at least I am not.  But we have the
ability to supplement, augment or even take over communications IF WE ARE
ASKED.  We haven't been asked in how long?  but we hear.... "if its snowing,
who is going to go get the MD/RN/Meds" snowed in.  Great...  who is dispatch
for ST, Mary's Hospital, what is out primary frequency, did you know that
the "64" isn't on a back up power supply?  What frequency do you check in
on.  I thought so!

Look folks... we can make ourselves very self supporting and help our county
maintain comms or supplement there system.  There are some really top notch
ops on the list doing some really advanced stuff but we never hear from you
unless its Field day or...Field Day.. Where are you on Tuesdays/1830?
Jeeze.. Just say HI!  We are not passing NTS traffic... and if we are..just
don't accept it!....easy enough yeah?

I have yammerd on enough.  Ray (FWW) and myself are looking for others to
help make this county self supporting.  You willing to help?
