[SMCARA] marathon event March6

 Today N3YZU attended the meeting at the Seamanship
school at StGeorgesIsalnd. We were graciously welcomed
by Howard Thompson the manager at the school. 
The meeting was attended by the school manager, the
director of StMarys parks and community services ,the
Piney Point lighthouse director, the marathon director
and myself. We discussed all the aspects of the event.
  There will be some speakers from the county and
other orgizations to give the beginning speaches for
the folk that have organized the event and the folk
that are supporting the event. The race will start
promptly 0800 as I had said before. The race will run
till approximatly 1200 -1230 hrs  and at that time the
awards will be given. There may be a few straglers may
come in around that time but all s/b in by 1300 at the
latest.
 The React Comm van will be positioned so as to have
the best exposure to the 775 and 64 rptrs.
 Next there will be water stops all along the route.
 We will space ourselves along this route to give best
coverage of radio support to the comm van. In
reference to an emergency we will call back to the van
for any emergency help. Reason being that the cell
phone coverage is very poor in that area. 
  When coming to the school on Sunday we may go thru
the main gate on StGeorges St. ,thats accross from the

small grocery store. The race gate is down from that
gate and between the barracks. 
 There will lots of race folk coming early , 0600
/0630.
 We really need to be there no later than 0730 so that
we can get assigned an area to observe the runners.
 Mark KB3IJU is go to be our liason to the event folk.
There will be food and water at the school and water
for the runners along the route.
 Recreation/Parks folk from the county are providing
the portapoties at various places along the route.
  We will have 115vac for the van to keep the
batteries charged during the day. We should have some
extension cables to make the 115vac connections  and
the React Team folk will provide those cables.
 Per the event director they will still have the run
if inclement wx does come on that day. Seems that the
runners like the challange of wx.
   This should be the last email ref the event
requirements for us and if necessary I will send out a
email of new info.
