Good morning everyone.
Well Charley was just a wet mess and not what it could have been thankfully.
So I would like to thank the following folks who hung out by there rigs and
provided help and support during the storm.
Steve Franc K3EZ, Thanks for letting us use the 195 while 64 is recovering.
Ray KB3FWW, RACES guy! Thanks for being on the ready to hit the ECC if we
needed it.
AJ AJ3U, Another BZ! Nice to have your ears around during a situation and
thank goodness you know a bunch of other people and can let us know who they
are!
"Team Bushman" Jerry KN3R and Maryellen N3XOJ We only heard from Jerry (but
we knew Maryellen was ready to jump in if we needed it!) thanks for getting
the map info to the shelter folks and being ready to man up. Great to know
we have a "team" available.
Bob Carter W5BTC (head RACES dude!). Thanks for the guidance and experiance
mate!
Ok, enough ego stroking, back to buisness. We were fortunate that Charley
fizzled out before it arrived here. There are two more out there doing
there thing and we have like uhh 12 more weeks to go? Check your set-ups (I
know I do!) and critique yourself on what happened at your QTH during this
event. What do I need to do to prevent that from happening or make my
station better for the next time. You may not be called upon to do NCS
duties but that one relay to another repeater for that one call may be the
game winner. As AJ put it last night, it takes a storm or other event to
make amateurs come back on the radio. Dont be a strager folks, check in and
say HI! We have another net this coming up Tuesday on the 195 so feel free
to say HI and get back into Amateur radio, even if its just taling on the
local repeaters, We like hearing your voice =D
Also, if no one else has done it, I would like to welcome Richard Bozovich
KG3BOZ (formerly KG6STS) here to PAX river. He's a new arrival from the San
Diego area and he peeked into the repeater last night and we welcome him to
the area! Richard was part of some neat things in SD and wants to bring
that enthusiasm/spirit here to the PAX River/K3HKI area. The BOZ's
enthusiasm is always welcome here! Give us a holler mate if you need any
help with setting up your new QTH station.
Well, that about does it. If any of you monitoring folks have anything else
to add, feel free to add on. So until the next meeting/net on Tuesday.
73 and TNX
