Folks,

Garner and I have spent a few days getting the SMCARA
mailing lists and membership roster updated for the 2003-2004
membership year. Welcome to the new folks added to the
club reflector mailing list... we hope you will stay subscribed
to obtain the latest news about club meetings and events (I do
understand the problems with too much e-mail these days due
to the spammers but we'll try hard to keep the few messages
we send you "on topic" and short. If you do decide to unsubscribe,
we'll certainly understand but would like to let you know that
you can always get the latest information about club events and
activities by going to our web page at http://www.qsl.net/smcara
on the Internet. I try to update the main page about once per
week to keep the content fresh.

Please accept my invitation to attend our monthly meeting
this Thursday, 23 October at 7:30 PM at the Naval Air Museum.
The museum is located on the northbound side of Rt. 235 in
Lexington Park about 200 feet north of Gate 1 of the Naval Air
Station traffic light. I'd like to really kick off the design
and building of our operating club display at the museum by
presenting some ideas for consideration. You can obtain more
details by visiting our club web page (see link above) to see
some pictures of a typical museum ham radio display located in
Hampton, Virginia at the Virginia Air and Space Museum. I had
the opportunity to spend about an hour last week taking a look
at their display and it is impressive, to say the least. The
best part is that we could do even better! I hope to see you
at the meeting at the museum.

We still have a few folks who are receiving this e-mail who
have not renewed their membership with SMCARA for the next year.
You can check your renewal status by going to our web site (see
link above) and clicking on the membership link near the bottom
of the page. An interactive membership tool will open and has
been updated to reflect all the folks who Garner and I have
received renewal forms and funds from. If you are missing, we'd
love to have you rejoin. Simply print out a membership renewal
form using the handy links on the web page, fill out and mail
back to Garner, W3SI with your check ***OR*** you can come to
the meeting and give it to him in person this week.

So thanks again for reading this and I hope to see all of you
at this week's meeting at the museum.

Hoping you are having fun with ham radio this month...

  Vr,Pete (WA3UMY)
