Folks,

The April meeting of the St. Mary's County Amateur Radio
Association (SMCARA) will be held this Thursday evening at
the Naval Air Museum beginning at 7:30 PM in the conference
room. The Museum is located on Route 235, just north of the
Gate 1 entrance to the Naval Air Station, on the northbound
side of the road.

Complete information on the museum and location is available
on our club website at http://www.qsl.net/smcara. We haven't
had a meeting in the last two months due to a snowstorm (Feb)
and absence of the officers who were on travel (Mar) so we
hope we can get back on track this month.

Tom Clarke (W4OKW) and Pete Butt (WA3UMY) are bringing some
of their AM 2-meter gear and we hope to have a tube night to
show you what it was like doing VHF operations before transistors.
If you have an older 2-meter AM rig you'd like to show off to
the membership, bring it along!

We will also be talking about setting up a small ham radio
station and exhibit in the museum this summer and would like
to hear your thoughts and ideas... and don't forget field day!
We are only a couple months away from the annual rite of
summer and want to see who can help out with the planning
for this event.

Looking forward to seeing you on Thursday at 7:30 PM!

  Vr, Pete (WA3UMY)
      President, SMCARA
