To say this is humbling is putting it mildly. I want you all to know I
appreciate your efforts in this. This is a win for all of us as it is
finally giving Internet hamradio equal footing. I will put out an e-mail
thanking all who helped in this in a few days.

this....we are a team!

Hello and Congratulations!

As relayed in our telephone conversation this
evening, Hamvention 2002 is pleased to inform you that you have been
selected to receive Technical Excellence Award. You were selected to
receive this award for your outstanding personal contribution to Amateur
Radio through qsl.net and qth.net.

On behalf of Hamvention 2002, I would like to invite you to attend our great
event during the weekend of May 17-19th. Your award will be presented
during the Banquet on Saturday, May 18th. You may deliver a short
acceptance speech at the banquet (MAXIMUM of 4-5 minutes).
Hamvention will provide the following to you:

- A $500 travel stipend. This stipend will be payable at the Friday evening
Award Winners Reception;
- Chauffeured transportation to and from the Friday evening reception and
the Grand Banquet on Saturday.
- Hotel accommodations will be provided for you at a hotel yet to be named.
Although, historically, we have housed our award winners at either the
Crowne Plaza Hotel or the Dayton Marriott.
- Ticket to Hamvention 2002 for you;
- Ticket to the Saturday Night Banquet for you.

I need from you within the next 7-10 days:
1) A short biography (50-75 words) covering your achievements in Amateur
Radio;
2) A passport-type photograph;
3) The date, time of your arrival in Dayton for Hamvention 2002
