_______________________________________________________________

These are five closely related message base areas, on the Intenet, that =
may be of interest to you.

NY_RACES, NY_ARES, and NY_SKYWARN are areas where RACES, ARES and/or =
SKYWARN members, Radio Officers, coordinators, and interested parties, =
in New York State, can meet to share ideas, discuss training, and =
basically pass along their experiences and ideas. I would like to see =
all members interested in these areas, in the State of New York, present =
on these message bases. What we could learn........would be staggering.

 To join NY_ARES - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NY_ARES/join
 To join NY_SKYWARN - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NY_SKYWARN/join

These next two message base areas were created 15 years ago on the =
Fidonet BBS Network Which, with the advent of the Internet, has fallen =
to disuse. So I have moved them to the Internet.

SCANRADIO was created by me, to give those users in the FidoNet =
shortwave message base, a place to meet, their own area. =20
Without having to "weed through" all of those shortwave messages which =
were of no interest to them. To discuss the type of equipment they own, =
and repairs available for their technical problems. ALL items related =
to Scanner Radios are discussed. I moved the area to the Internet, and =
the problem still exists. =20

HamTech was created by another user on the FidoNet, and was passed to me =
when he realized he had no time to moderate it.
It is basically an area where discussions are made on the technical pros =
and cons of ham radio, and questions are asked of the members when a =
problem arises. Experiences are discussed, about one radio or another, =
an antenna installation, etc. and when a problem is found, the possible =
solutions. =20

I hope these message base areas are of use to you and if so, please pass =
this information on to others you believe would benefit from the =
information in these areas.
