Over the past year, your support has allowed us to continue expanding the SkyHub network. Although our last fundraiser in September 2025 reached only about one-third of its goal, we successfully commissioned the La Veta Pass repeater, bringing coverage to a previously underserved area near Walsenburg. We also completed the Trinidad repeater system, which is awaiting site access for installation, and brought several additional sites online, including Sandia Crest in Albuquerque. Please visit skyhublink.com/support if you would like to help out!

We are now raising funds for two infrastructure projects.

The first is a new repeater installation on Hoyt Tower, with a target completion of August/September 2026. At approximately 2,000 feet above ground level, Hoyt Tower is the tallest structure in Colorado and provides an exceptional opportunity for wide-area coverage in Eastern Colorado for Edge of Space Sciences, Severe weather, and emergency communications for I76 and I70 eastern routes. The repeater, duplexer, and antenna have already been acquired. Funding is needed for approximately 400 feet of hardline, connectors, grounding materials, and installation hardware. The antenna will be mounted at the 300' level and there is a 100' ice bridge.

The second project is restoring the Sandia Crest repeater to service. The site's high RF environment has proven that the existing 4-cavity duplexer does not provide adequate isolation, requiring the repeater to be taken offline to protect our equipment and other users. Replacing it with a 6-cavity high-isolation duplexer will allow the system to return to service and be linked back into SkyHub.

The total project cost is $1,873.00. An initial $300.00 donation has already been received, leaving $1,573.00 to raise.

If approximately one-quarter of the recipients of this email contributed $20, the remaining balance would be covered. Contributions of any amount, or donations of compatible equipment and components, are equally appreciated.

New Donation Platform

We have moved our online donations to Zeffy. Unlike many fundraising platforms, Zeffy does not charge transaction or platform fees to nonprofit organizations, allowing 100% of your donation to support our projects. During checkout, Zeffy may ask if you would like to leave them a tip. This tip is optional and can be reduced to $0 if you choose.

You can donate at skyhublink.com/support

A line-by-line breakdown of the requested equipment and costs is included below.
