Hey Jeff I agree really. Shortwave “Broadcasting” and other uses would not be very commercially viable as the internet and other modes of communication are prevalent these days, and the general public are not the least interested really
in anything in the “shortwave” frequencies. I am almost wondering if this isn’t either a hoax or some off beat groups attempt at another agenda at the most. And, as others have pointed out, the ARRL will be on this like a “duck on a June bug”! ,😊
Thank you good sir!

Thanks Jack,
Yep I used it as my News article for this week, but I have to admit that I don’t understand why they would want this since high speed internet is already capable of handling this application. Yes, some areas are not served by high speed
IP but you would hope that they might be smart enough to extend internet’s coverage instead of wasting radio bandwidth. I thought that’s what Elon was already supplying. That would not only accomplish their purpose but supply the internet to a whole bunch
of under served people. I wonder if there are other reasons for establishing this. I’ve found that if something doesn’t make sense, it’s probably not true. Even SW broadcasting is largely dying because internet is more economical. Just saying.

Could this possibly be detrimental to amateur radio, or is it something not to worry about?
More to come.
