America's Kansas City Wide room newsletter 4-17-23

Hi, Just some updates on projects and things happening at Kansas City Wide.

We have a new P-25 radio mode door now thanks to Matt Spencer K0MGS. That talk group is 31313.

We also have a couple of new KC-Wide repeaters we just installed this month.

One in Edwards Kansas at the Lake of the Ozarks area. This repeater is hosted by Steve KC0VYS at his home on the lake. It is on Fusion only using 145.310 MHz and located near MM 61-62 at Lake of the Ozarks.

We also have a new repeater in St. Mary's Kansas near I-70 a little east of Manhattan. It is 146.955 MHz and is Fusion only. For K-State fans the path between KC and the K-State campus will now have better coverage. This site was made possible thanks to  Robert WV0S and Brian KC0BS.

Rick W0FH and I were there getting that site ready, and the repeater was turned on recently. It might be a while before I get all the info together and it gets posted on the website.

We keep expanding the "Kansas City Wide" room. That only happens thanks to people. There are always lots of people helping to make things happen at KC-Wide. As the computer systems and networking get a lot bigger and much more complex. A special "Thank You" to Kris KU0S and William KD0WEX. They have been doing a lot of work in the background this past month. Working long hours they keep making the computer networking infrastructure better than ever.

We hope to continue to expand the coverage of the Kansas City wide room. We could use your help with that. If you or someone or club you know owns a repeater please see if they would like to join us in connecting the Fusion dots along the highway. It they have a good site but need some equipment we might be able to help with that. For more information about that please have them contact me at  [email protected].

-------------------------

Additionally, there are some new Fusion repeaters on-line near KC.

One in Grove OK on 442.625 MHz the contact listed is Steve W5BIU

And a new one in Hiawatha KS on 147.180 MHz the contact there is Jason W0KHP.

FYI, Thanks,

Kansas City Wide group of Fusion repeaters:

Below is a list of the Fusion Kansas City Wide group of repeaters. The Kansas City Wide group of repeaters are all linked together to provide a larger coverage area. You will find that other repeaters and hot spots often link to the room, but the list below is typically available 24/7.

The "Kansas City Wide" coverage group is only made possible thanks to the support of several ham radio clubs, a couple private individuals and some special local companies. By this collective working together the coverage of the "Kansas City Wide" coverage group" continues to grow as it becomes a better community resource.
