[SkyHub] FTM-400-XDR config?

Hi John,

I don’t know if anyone answered you but this might help:

How do you want to connect? There are several different ways to do it.

If you do not want to run your own node, then just find a repeater that is on the Wires-X/YSF network and connect through that.

You can search repeaterbook.com and designate YSF to find repeaters local to you.

You need to be in DN or VW mode (use the X button to scroll through the modes and leave the Mode button on the radio face to Auto), not FM mode to do any of this. Those are the digital modes for YSF/Wires-X.

If that’s what you do simply push the X button to connect to Wires-X and then you can search directly from the radio for the room.

If you connect to a repeater that is already connected to the room you want then you don’t need to use the X button, all you need to do is make sure you’re in digital mode (DN/VW) unless changing rooms.

SkyHubLink room number is 46361. However, some repeaters will not allow (or want) you to change the room; check with the repeater op to find out if it’s ok first.

If you want to run your own node you install Wires-X on a computer and connect the radio to the computer.

In this case, you apply to Yaesu for a node number and it’ll take them a couple days to assign one to you. You will also need the connection cable for the radio-to-computer.

Then you can run the radio in Direct mode and connect to the room through the Wires-X software.

If you are doing that, I find it best to run in HRI mode and then you can either connect Direct, or run as an access point and use another radio to connect through your 400.

There is a little more to it for configuration of the software if that’s the way you’re going, but you need a node number first.

You can also use a hotspot but I am not familiar with that setup, maybe somebody else can help you with that if you’re interested – I run 3 of my own nodes all through laptops running the Wires-X software.

Here are some links explaining everything:

Hope this helps!

Subject: [SkyHub] FTM-400-XDR config?

Just bought an FTM400XDR and only have experience with Anytone codeplugs.

Would anyone happen to have a sample config with SkyHubLink and Wiresx configured in it for this radio that I can check to see how it is configured? VERY new to Yaesu.

Thanks!

John
