Yes it would be a good idea to at least let Robert know about it in case he is not aware but I am guessing that he does know about it given his State ARES position and the HAM equipment on that mountain. But reach out to him and make sure he is aware.

Just a thought, never used him before, but Robert Wareham N0EQS is a Front Range attorney, Ham operator, and State ARES Manager. He may already be aware of this or might be able to help. I believe he also negotiated a deal with the USFS to purchase the Devil's Head site a few years ago.

I don't know if this will be of any assistance to you folks, but years ago (1977 or 78) there was a case here in Tucson, where a mountain top property was sold to a tower group without an easement. Helicopters were the only way up when I was with one of the radio stations at the time.

Arizona Law may be different, but if you folks do get a lawyer, you might have them look at the suit brought against Pima County which resulted in an easement being granted.

Hope this is helpful to you.

Has the users group considered an adverse possession claim to gain the desired easement? Given the long history of access, it would seem to be a slam dunk to this non-lawyer.

So I forwarded the article to Bill Nelson, KB0OHQ, a partner with Lewis Rocca Rothgerber in Colorado Springs to get his thoughts which I'll pass along.

What can we do as individuals? Is there a campaign underway to notify both our State and Federal representatives of the critical nature of this issue?

See the news article. This also involves our ham radio repeater on Methodist Mountain included with this particular situation. I will be contacting John Ferrugia at Channel 7 news on Monday morning.  Maybe he could help too.
