[SkyHub] SkyHub Digest, Vol 13, Issue 10

Gentle-readers,
I, too, did not intend for my initial email to go to "all", but since it
has, and since it triggered several critical responses, let me clarify for
a moment.
First,, the First Amendment, which I'm a fierce supporter of, protects us
from GOVERNMENT interference in our free speech. Period.  GOVERNMENT.  That
is why employers get to establish ground rules for their employees, why
subscription email lists, the many Facebook Ham topic lists I'm on, etc,
all get to establish their own "ground rules' of what kind of messaging is
allowable and what isn't.  It's called boundaries, and it does not violate
the sacred First Amendment that many of us have fought to uphold over the
years.  Think of it this way: on some ham lists I'm on, when a basic
question is posted that some jerk thinks is too stupid for his intelligence
and he trashes the rookie who may ask, list administrators often remove
such a person from the list.
Second, I love how simply based on a single ask of the list administrator,
now everyone assumes to know my own politics, where I live, etc.  Trust me
folks, it has nothing to do with any of the above.
I got my amateur radio license and love this hobby because it is one place
I can avoid the great divide that defines our country these days.  A place
where all both within our great nation and well past our borders can find
common interests and a unique bond.  I'm sorry if my request to have this
list  be such a place has offended so many folks, never my intention.
Hence, rather than kick the hornet's nest anymore, I will simply
unsubscribe from the list.  73 to my fellow hams.
