Greetings Everyone and Happy New Year! Below is a list of everything we
have completed in 2020, I would like to thank everyone who has volunteered
with time, money, equipment, or tower space to help out with our massive
expansion! We have doubled our footprint in just the past year, see
skyhublink.com/coverage
List of SkyHub Projects completed in 2020. There may be more things I am
forgetting.
1. Brought DSTAR XRF031C online
2. Moved HUB computer Downtown at Denver Water network room for
reliable connection
3. Got IRLP back up and running using a Nano Node with an audio
bridge to a pi
4. Got the 448.400 frequency from Cliff N0ZUQ old repeater, put it on
Fusion at I225 and Parker road
5. Designed the Buena Vista 449.575 repeater from scratch, deployed
on Mt. Princeton
6. Added a link radio at Buena Vista Search and Rescue to add this
repeater
7. Decommissioned the 449.575 repeater at Mt. Princeton, reprogrammed
the Buena Vista Link radio for 449.925 Methodist Mtn. after getting
permission to use that machine instead.
8. Moved the KE0VH 449.625 from Lookout Mountain to Morrison
mountain, the premiere site for Denver!
9. Installed AllStar Link on the 146.700 WB0QMR repeater in Dillon /
Breckenridge, and put it on the SkyHub full time
10. Installed the 447.950 Fusion digital repeater at the Denver Water
Roberts tunnel entrance near Dillon Reservoir
11. Built the 446.275 simplex node on fusion for Colorado Springs on
Fusion. De-commissioned this node after we got a better site for a full
duplex analog repeater.
12. Built the Colorado Springs Repeater from scratch, coordinated and
installed at Gardner rock
13. Built the Grand Lake repeater to go at Cris W5WCA’s QTH and
installed. SkyHub coverage in Fraser, Granby and Grand Lake.
14. Re-coordinated and moved Jeremy W0JRL’s Analog repeater from his
apartment up to Lookout Mountain where the 449.625 repeater used to be.
Removed after PA failure, replaced Yaesu transmitter with Motorola on the
DR1X.
15. Received coordination for 447.800 at the Milner Mountain site to
expand coverage to Ft. Collins. Installed the K0SVT repeater at this site
16. Bridged internet using Jeff Grazi’s microwave link and VLAN between
Lookout Mountain and Milner Mountain for internet at this site.
17. Received coordination to move 448.400 from parker road and I225 to
Milner mountain on Analog. Moved this repeater on the same rack as 447.800
as the N0ZUQ memorial repeater using his original equipment.
18. Installed the new M17 digital mode on the SkyHub server for future
experimentation, eventually will bridge to the main hub.
19. Got on board with K6IOK repeater covering a very wide area centered
in Auburn CA
20. Formed a Board, and received a EIN number and registration through
the State of CO for non-profit status. Still need to eventually file 1023
for official non-profit.
21. Received permission to re-locate the Scottsbluff repeater up on top
of a main tower covering that area
22. Received coordination to re-locate our originally coordinated Buena
Vista repeater to Pueblo on 449.575. Moved this repeater 122 feet up the
Galvanized Endeavors 900 foot tower on Baculite Mesa for coverage between
Colo. City and Monument.
23. Installed the link radio for this machine at Ray AA0L’s QTH in
Peyton, CO to link this Pueblo Machine to the SkyHub.
24. Re-coordinated W0JRL 447.175 for Downtown Denver (lookout mtn was too
noisy). Still need to install soon.
Our goals for 2021 will include adding Vail and Durrango, and more
importantly hardening and adding redundancy to our current assets to keep
them running. We run completely on volunteers and donations and really
appreciate any help from anyone, and anything helps. Feel free to support
us at skyhublink.com/support.
73,
Skyler W0SKY
Chief Engineer
