*National Hurricane Preparedness Week is May 3-9, 2026.*



Hurricane Preparedness Week encourages everyone to act today prepare for
hurricane season.

Individual and family readiness is especially important for first
responders, emergency managers, and all who support hurricane response and
recovery.



Understand your risk from hurricanes and begin pre-season preparations now
before the Atlantic Hurricane Season officially begins in June.

Make sure you have multiple ways of receiving forecasts and alerts, and
know what to do before, during, and after a storm.

Ready.gov provides a checklist with additional information and resources on
how to prepare:
