Several of you have asked if the RCForb remote client software is available
for Apple computers and I said no. Well, it turns out I lied...sort of.
Here is what I found and I'm not sure where but probably on the user
group discussions on RemoteHams website. Your mileage may vary and I have
not tried this myself yet on an Apple computer.

Using RCforb 0.9 on Mac with Crossover 15 (works great)

Preface: I never could (and still can't) get the older RCforb 0.8 to work
on the Mac with Crossover.

But now RCForb 0.9 works great. And it's much faster than via full Windows
through Parallels. (Note that Crossover is a relatively inexpensive
emulation program by a company called Codeweavers -- no Windows license
needed because it translates the program directly. No other emulation
program like Parallels or VMWare needed either. Here's a link:
https://www.codeweavers.com )

Here are the steps:

•1) Install Flashplayer 11 AX from Crossover using the built-in interface
in a completely new Crossover "bottle". Designate the bottle's OS as
"Windows XP" — don't worry, it will work. In this step, you can name the
bottle something like "RCforb" (or whatever you like).

•2) Install C++ 2013 from Crossover into the new bottle using the built-in
interface. Don't select the 64-bit version. (Make sure you install it into
the new bottle created in step 1.)

•3) Install .Net 4.0 from Crossover using the built-in interface. (Again,
make sure you install it into the same bottle created in step 1.)

•4) Install .Net 4.5.1 from Crossover using the built-in interface. (Again,
make sure you install it into the same bottle created in step 1.)

•5) Now from the Mac side, use Safari (or another Mac browser) and go to
this link:

https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html
>From there, locate this string:
             (Released 3/11/2014) Flash Player 12.0.0.77 (157.63 MB)
Download that file to your desktop. Here's a direct link to the proper file:

http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/installers/archive/fp_12.0.0.77_archive.zip
Now unzip that archive, and you'll see two folder. Open the first one named
"12_0_r0_77". Inside that, look for the file named:
             flashplayer12_0r0_77_winax.exe
Copy that file to your Mac desktop for now.

•6) Now install the file you set aside in step 5, using the interface. Make
sure you select that file, and then make sure you install it into the new
bottle created when you began. The file should install flawlessly.

•7) Now download the latest RCForb 0.9 setup file to your Mac desktop and
install it to the same bottle. This also should install flawlessly.

•8) While RCforb is working on your Mac, you can find its icon in the Mac
dock, right-click that, and select "Options -> Keep in dock" for easy
access.

Much, much more responsive than Parallels or VMware Fusion. Almost feels
just like a Mac application.

Hope these irritatingly detailed instructions help someone. I tried to
write them for a beginner.
