Good news! The transmitter is not fried!! I was able to get into the fire
house this morning to check things out and the FT-991A is fine. There still
seems to be some glitches operating remotely, especially cw which has
something to do with a software configuration change. I have no idea
how/why it was changed and I'll have to do some research to return it to
the proper cw settings.

I put the remote station back online for repeater and SSB use, however no
guarantees yet on CW.

A word of caution - I have found that the rig does not behave well using a
WiFI connection at the remote (client) end. Sometimes it's fine if the Wifi
connection is really solid, and others it misbehaves.

I'll report later once I figure out what is wrong with the setup for
keyboard CW.
