Hi fellow members,
Just a note to ask you to join us tonight for the weekly Monday night net. We will meet on the K2AA repeater on 145.29 at 8PM. This analog FM net uses 91.5 as the PL. At the conclusion of the regular net we will hold a Swap Shop.
Attached is pdf copy of this month's contest listing. You can get the latest contest info, including a link to the rules for that contest, by using the calendar on sjra.org website.
One of the year's big contests is this weekend starting at 4PM Saturday and running for 30 hours till 10PM Sunday nite is the ARRL Sweepstakes. (SSB weekend). The objective is to work as many stations as possible in each of 84 ARRL sections (includes Canada). If you do work all 84 sections you qualify for a "Clean Sweep" cup from SJRA. If you make 100 contacts or more you will receive a participation pin.
Exchange format you send follows ARRL message handling sort of ...looks like this
CQ CQ K2AA (first station)
W2FDJ (me responding)
W2FDJ 023 M K2AA 16 SNJ (first station)
001 U W2FDJ 63 SNJ (me responding)
R QRZ K2AA (first station)
where 001 is a serial number ... 002 would be my next contact etc
U is the PREC or the class of your station entry. A=low power unassisted, U=low or high power assisted, M=Multi, and there are others see rules
Your call sign is sent within the message
the 63 is a check number - use the first year you were licensed
SNJ of course is the section (if in Philly it would be EPA)
Good luck, John W2FDJ
