All,

Good news the ARRL has modified some of the field day rules to accommodate
the current emergency.

 

We the SJRA will still continue to conduct a multi-station operation in a
large area (breaking the 1000 ft rule). Instead of operation as 7E we can
now operate as 7D. So the need for generators is has been eliminated. The
operator scheduled is starting to get filled in. Go to our website

If you wish to operate as K2AA from your own station you need:

*	100W transmitter
*	reasonable antenna (able to make contacts)
*	computer for N1MM logging program
*	Internet. If you have all of these sign up.

 

Sign up for an hour to operate as K2AA on your favorite band from your own
station sooner than later.

 

We will be having meetings to help you with the logging program and sharing
it live with the club. Early tests look very promising.

 

The Field Day team is working very hard to coach everyone to get to speed.

 

Sign up early, time slots are on a first come first serve basis. Please go
to the website and get into the schedule. Our goal is to keep 7 stations on
the air for 24 hours. If you can give the club an hour or two we will take
it. More is better.

 

A couple of the bands will have stations that you can come to, in this case
all of the COVID-19 practices will be strictly followed. A lot of hand
sanitizer will be available.

 

Another way to support the SJRA is by getting on the air operating as 1D
listing the South Jersey Radio Club as your affiliation. The only rules is
that you cannot contact a K2AA station if you operated as K2AA. This will
help our club aggregate score.

Temporary Rule Waivers Announced for 2020 ARRL Field Day
05/28/2020
With one month to go before 2020 ARRL Field Day, June 27 - 28, the ARRL
Programs and Services Committee (PSC) has adopted two temporary rule waivers
for the event:

1)      For Field Day 2020 only, Class D stations may work all other Field
Day stations, including other Class D stations, for points.

Field Day rule 4.6 defines Class D stations as "Home stations," including
stations operating from permanent or licensed station locations using
commercial power. Class D stations ordinarily may only count contacts made
with Class A, B, C, E, and F Field Day stations, but the temporary rule
waiver for 2020 allows Class D stations to count contacts with other Class D
stations for QSO credit.

2)      In addition, for 2020 only, an aggregate club score will be
published, which will be the sum of all individual entries indicating a
specific club (similar to the aggregate score totals used in ARRL affiliated
club competitions).
