To all SJRA Members who plan to participate in Field Day 2020
Please plan to attend one of two Zoom meetings this week on Wednesday or
Friday evening.
This will be practice, rehearsal, debugging, assistance etc. for getting
setup with N1MM Logger+ and Hamachi VPN.
Even if you have attended earlier training for this, it is probably still a
good idea to join us to get some refresher and practice.
Reminder on the SJRA Field Day 2020 Plans:
The SJRA will be operating as class 7D in a "distributed" fashion. We will
all operate our home stations (or in some cases possibly remote stations)
and network our computers together to share a common log.
This type of novel operation will exceed the rules and provisions currently
in place from the ARRL and may result in our entry not being published by
the ARRL with the Field Day results.
Some members are potentially making arrangements to provide stations outside
their homes where other members may be able to operate on a carefully
scheduled and structured basis and maintain appropriate social distancing.
If you have not already been involved with one of the practice sessions, and
are interested in being on the air as K2AA, 7D, SNJ as part of our
distributed network, please read over the attached document and become
familiar with it before attending one of this week's sessions. The more
progress you make on your own, the smoother things will go when you get
online and join us.
You must be within 175 miles of Marlton, NJ to participate as part of the
SJRA for this event. This is consistent with ARRL rules for other
competitive events.
PLEASE NOTE - WE ARE USING ZOOM FOR THIS MEETING AND NOT WEBEX AS WE HAVE IN
THE PAST.
If you are already a Zoom user and have a Zoom ID, you will be familiar with
this.
If not, you may download and install the Zoom software on your PC or mobile
device. Instructions are given below after the meeting details.
It is highly recommended that you install Zoom on the PC you will use for
logging during Field Day.
This way you can share your screen with us and we can assist you with
possible tech issues as we work to get things running smoothly.
If you use a phone or a tablet, we will still be able to converse with you
but you won't have the screen sharing ability.
If you use the link below to join the meeting, you should not need to enter
the password.
If you join by another method or call in via telephone, you will need to use
the password: 7168
