The SJRA contacted the Space Shuttle during Field Day using a 2 radios, a 50 2m Mobile and an HT. That's all I got.

Well said Joe
Sorry for the late reply but I had gum surgery yesterday and am a little slow on the uptake.
It is extremely difficult to “work” iss and an astronaut and based on pure luck. I know some have but I’ve been working satellites for about 25 years and with the exception of an occasional eaves drop on a scheduled ARIS contact I’ve never heard them on the air.
Good luck, as you never know.
