[SJRA-Members] Digital hotspot recommendation?

Hi Burton,
Just about all of the currently available hotspots require a Raspberry Pi to operate. The hotspot itself is a hat that attaches to the Pi.Two of the more popular and reasonably priced alternatives are the Jumbo-Spot and the ZUMspot. The Jumbo-Spot is available from various ebay sellers. The ZUMspot is available at Ham Radio Outlet. Both hotspots require Pi-Star software to operate and usually come packaged with a Pi-zero with Wifi and Pi-Star.
There is a new hotspot model coming soon that is self contained called the openSPOT2. All the hardware and software to operate it is contained within the device. It is not yet available for sale. Check it out at the following link: https://www.sharkrf.com/products/openspot2/. I have the original openSPOT and really like it. The original is no longer available except on the used market.
