[SJRA-Members] New Activities on the Horizon

I wanted to appraise you of several important items.

1. In preparation for the annual holiday party and awards ceremony I want
to urge you to consider members whose work in the hobby is worthy of our
recognition through one of our annual awards. Please consult the Awards
section of our website for details. An upcoming article in *Harmonics *will
also provide details and information about submitting nominations.
Nominations can also be submitted to any board member or officer. You can
use the link below to submit your nomination(s) or email me at
rjlawn at gmail.com. Let me hear from you ASAP.

2. Don't forget to get involved in the upcoming club QSO party even if it
is just for a short time. Rules and guidelines were distributed and will be
again before the QSO party begins at 14:00 EDST on 10/13 running to 13:59
EDST on 10/14. The objective is to work as many Amateur Radio Club members
as possible and Listed Amateur Radio Club Stations.

3. Following up on recent meetings and the interest areas survey, I'm
pleased to announce a tentative plan to begin a once a month Saturday
morning breakfast on the 2nd Saturday of every month. I am still looking
for the right venue so stay tuned. In the interim please drop me a short
email if you think you might attend the first breakfast on November 14th.
The restaurant needs to know approximately how many would attend.
