Hello All,
A little play off of Bob's Post
If you don't operate CW, If you can operate Phone, If you have a license,
well then
By all means come on out to Field Day and Operate 20M SSB
Depending on propagation, 20M SSB usually fares pretty well in overall
scoring
If we have people to operate and decent conditions 20M SSB has done very
well in past..
Can't sleep at night? come operate a station we need the chair full for 24
hrs and Nighttime is usually open and you can have allot of fun.
The Station:
Will have a Elecraft K3, 2 element Beam at least 50/75', Heil Mic Adapter
for Headset
The 20M SSB operating Position has a window view and it is also air
conditioned what else can you ask for??
If everyone in the club is able to come out and Operate a station if even
only for a hour or 2 it would be much appreciated by all and it would help
the Club, You don't have to be an expert operator, we want any and all Club
Members to Join in, don't feel you're not fast enough or good enough this is
how you learn
This is the One Big Club Activity for the Year Please Come out and Support
the Club that were all part of get to know some of the members, come learn
something new, try a different rig that you have always wanted to try. Come
out and Hang out for a bit do some Operating and BS with some club Members,
there will even be some food and Drinks.
So if you would like to sign up for any station just reply to the email we
will put you on the schedule to operate.
Hope to see everyone there

Subject: [SJRA-Members] K2AA needs Ops for 20m CW on Field Day !
QST QST QST
Does your blood pressure go up if someone sends you 599 instead of 5NN
during a contest?
Do you know the difference between a house key and a straight key?
Do you know what the abbreviation for Continuous Wave is?
Are you tired of listening to static crashes on 80m CW?
Do you know who Samuel Morse was?
No slots available on 40m CW?
If the answer to any or all of these questions is "yes" (or even "maybe"),
then you are qualified to operate CW on 20m during Field Day next weekend!
We need operators.
Last year the 20m CW station was only behind 40m CW by a couple hundred QSOs
(832 vs 1,047).
If we can keep the chair filled, we can even that number up.
Nationally, 20m CW scores more than 40m does so this is actually possible.
This year we will have a Kenwood TS-590SG at the station.
This radio has a fantastic receiver with a 500 Hz roofing filter and DSP
filtering that lets you set it even tighter if you wish.
This is a great radio and a joy to operate. Instruction will be given to
anyone who wants it.
The radio will be fully interfaced to the logging computer for sending CW
from the logging program or you can use a paddle if you prefer.
The station will also have a TA-33 tribander up 50 ft, a band pass filter,
and at least one tuned stub to reduce interference from those "other"
stations.
So far, I've only assigned myself a shift in the late afternoon/early
evening.
If you have a scheduling conflict and would prefer this slot, I'll be happy
to move.
If you have time and can operate, reply to this email and I'll be happy to
write you in.
[ Let's beat 40m CW :-) ]
