All Members:

Field Day is fast approaching, faster than members are signing up for
important Bonus Points and GOTA activities.

GOTA:  We can get 3 points per contact for each GOTA contact if we have a
coach and if each GOTA operator works multiples of 20 contacts.  20
contacts is too difficult for some people, but it is entirely doable for
most club members with a coach.  But in order to do this we need a GOTA
coach for EVERY GOTA contact.  Thus we have a serious need for GOTA
coaches, even if you can only coach for an hour!  Email RIch VonLintig
kv2rrich at gmail.com if you can join the GOTA coach schedule.  Or if you
can't coach, please come out and operate GOTA so that you can be a coach
next year!  We do not want to and will not turn potential GOTA operators
away for lack of a coach, but the first uncoached GOTA contact will cost us
the coach bonus.  (We can still get the multiples of 20 bonus without the
coach).  Please plan on participating on GOTA if you are only an occasional
operator.

Bonus Points:  We have quite a few opportunities:

Copying W1AW Bulletin - This can be done perhaps most easily by recording
(with IPhone or Ipad or recorder, etc) the Phone bulletin at 11am local
time on Sunday morning at 3.990 MHz.  80 m is probably best , but others
are 7.29, 14.29, 21.39, and 28.59 MHz all at 11am.  One cannot write the
message fast enough to keep up, so recording is needed.  This can be done
at home, and there are other times, see W1AW schedule.

Demo a Related Skill - This must be done at the FD site, but it need not be
something radio-related.  For example, it could be CPR which is relevant,
but should not be trimming a Christmas tree.  One only needs a 5-minute
program.

Bring Youths (18 and Under) to FD - Each contact (one per person, up to 5
persons) by such a person gets us 20 bonus points.  The youths will receive
lots of help.

On-Site Safety Coordinator - We can get 100 bonus points by having a safety
coordinator on hand at all times.  We have some people willing to help, but
need to fill in the schedule to cover Friday through Sunday.  If you can
help even for an hour, this will help.

GOTA Coach - Having a GOTA coach could be worth up to 500 points for us.
If we can fill in the schedule hour by hour, no one will need to do it very
long.  So if you can do an hour or two, please help.  We need coaches in
any case, but it we can cover most of the 24 hours, we can go for the bonus.

Band Captain for Digital Station - We expect to do a 20m/40m RTTY/PSK31
station, but we need a band captain.  Most of the station is already
planned/available, but we need operators and a person to run the station.
Even just a few hours is enough to make us 7A.

Message Handling - We can get 200 bonus points for sending 2 messages, one
to Sect;ion Manager and another standard message to 10 addressees.  This
can be done by echo-link.  Contact KV2R for more information.

Remember FD setup starts 8 am Friday, and operation starts 2pm Saturday.
