Holden,

Your project sounds awesome!!

For 2M, will you be utilizing the K2AA 2M repeater 145.290 - or some other 2M simplex frequency?

I hope to get on the air to give you some backup contacts on 2M and have you penciled in on my calendar but I will be operating from my QTH in Sewell (FM29LS ) so I could probably only reach via repeater.

I have a small magmount 2M stub (about 12inch antenna) that I used when I was first using my HT from my truck as a mobile unit with the stub magmount temporarily stuck on my truck roof through my sunroof that I am happy to lend you if you like. It has an SMA connector for use with an HT though and would need a Female SMA to SO-259 or PL-259 adapter depending on how/where you make the final connection to the radio (at the radio PL259 - via an intermediate coax SO-259). I presently don't have the adapter. The simple J-pole antenna that I saw offered or a full size mobile antenna might be the better options.

My plan is to hang up a 40 meter dipole and bring a FT-897, FT-100DR, and a few HT's. As for the 2m unit, I would like to use a mobile antenna vs my 8ft vertical. I would like to know if anyone would allow me to borrow a 2 meter mobile antenna just so I can stick it out a window for local rx. Any help would be appreciated. Secondly, just in case 40 meters is dead during the event, I would use the vhf/ uhf radios as backup. I know I'm asking a lot but if anyone could be my "backup" to talk to kids for a minute QSO each or so would be terrific. I would like for best results a couple of people within 5 or so of Collingswood( FM29LV). Thank you so much for your help.
