To ALL:

The NEW YAESU SYSTEM FUSION repeater is now operational.

The NEW Digital repeater has replaced the Analog repeater on 145.29 and
will accept calls in BOTH Analog and Digital Modes.

Along with this NEW technology comes some NEW methods or implementation of
some older existing methods not previously used by ALL.

Most notable will be the Digital QSO noise heard by those of you with
standard analog radios. This will be most of you!

To circumvent this noise you should set your Receive PL to 91.5 as the
repeater will be using PL 91.5 on Both Receive and Transmit.

Also, once you set the PL you will no longer hear the Digital noise so you
won't know if there's someone using the repeater unless you look to see if
there's activity via the S-Meter in you radio. Doing this will help avoid
stepping on a QSO in progress. More on this later at the meetings and
future publications.

Now, for those of you with Digital Fusion Radios there is MUCH MORE!

1st - The K2AA Node is located at the home of KC2TN (for now) and is RF
linked to the Repeater with a dedicated Link Radio. This Node is using an
HRI-200 Wires-X interface box to connect to the internet. This will allow
the repeater users to connect to ANY Wires-X Room on the Wires-X Network.

2nd - The K2AA Node has it's own Room known as K2AA-SJRA with an ID of
28132. You can find this room by searching with your Wires-X radio once
connected to the node via the repeater. Consult you user manuals on how to
do this!

3rd - The K2AA node may be connected to ANY Room on the network at any given
tine. AND iw may be disconnected at any time by any user. However I will
have the node ALWAYS revert to the K2AA-SJRA room after a given time.
Usually about 3-5 minutes.

4th - When using the Digital nodes always leave a few seconds between KeyUps
for breaking stations or pending connections to go through.

5th - This Wires-X system is still evolving and is not perfect, but has
proven to be a lot of fun for those that have implemented it. Be patient!
I've worked several countries and States in just a few days. Most people
I've talked to are also brand new Wires-X users and finding their way as
well!

6th - There are a number of nets on the Wires-X network in various rooms.
I'll try and get a list for those that are interested.

7th - Nets on the repeater may be a little different as the built-in
controller for the NEW repeater does not have all the same featurse as the
old one. We'll work thru any issues

8th - Finally, the K2AA Node is only a guest at my home for now and is
subject to the same rules as other resident equipment in my home. It may be
TURNED OFF at a moment's notice given Electrical storms, Power Failures,
Vacations, etc..!

Enjoy this new technology and feel free to email with any questions.

Joe - KC2TN
