[SJRA-Members] Trouble with N1MM not spotting my contacts

Hi Rich.
S&P means search and pounce vs "running" (calling CQ).
N1MM doesn't really do self spotting since the vast majority of contests prohibit it. Ours is really more special event than contest.
Use www.dxsummit.fi to generate manual spots of your own on the web. I also like a program from VE7CC which specializes in dx cluster spots but it has a slight learning curve. You can use it to make manual spots also.
Auto spotting during S&P is good as long as your tuning around. Every so often a station calling CQ will leave this on and fill the band map with all the stations they work on one frequency.
ESM is a useful mode for experienced ops mainly on CW and RTTY where the exchanges are pre-programmed on the function keys. When you're "running" and in the groove, you can really bang them out with very little typing and just pressing the Enter key.
