ELMER 101 Project
For those of you who attended the April SJRA meeting and would like to
participate in the “Elmer 101” project, I’ve included information from Joe,
N2CX and George Heron, N2APB regarding their introductory session
introducing this experiential learning QRP project. Don’t worry, you
haven’t missed anything as all of their CWTD (Chat With the Designers) web
presentations are archived.
You can go to learn more about past projects that CWTD have sponsored:
http://www.cwtd.org/
To catch up on the “Elmer 101” project a podcast of the first session can
be found at the following link. Links to all of the instructional materials
concerning building the SW30+ kit are also found here as well as how to
purchase the kit for $45 + $10 shipping/handling.

While the kits won’t be available for a couple of weeks, Joe will reserve
20 kits for SJRA members that want to participate. I urge you to reserve
your kit soon by emailing Joe at n2cx at verizon.net. Kits will be reserved
for us on a first come first serve basis so once 20 have been spoken for
there will be no more. I’ve already ordered mine!
I think that this is a great project to learn more about circuit theory and
trouble shooting techniques while building a great little QRP transceiver.
The best way to learn always involves applying what you learn to a hands on
project.
Thanks to George and Joe for making this happen!
