Good advice, Bob. There is a sea of radio junk out there. Best to stick with the reliable manufacturers! You get what you pay for.
The Greensboro Amateur Radio Association had a POTA activation today. I brought my Yaesu FT-891. One of the other members had a Xiegu G90 HF , a 20 watt rig. The Xiegu was on 20 meters so I went to 17 meters, when I went into tune mode with the power of 5 watts I would desensitize the Xiegu one band away. I could only work 10 meters without any problems. There was also another FT-891 that had no problems even if we were on the same band.
Lesson learned , stay away from a low cost radio.
