My last email may have confused some of you.
The Spring Countdown Challenge continues through June 30th.
According to DX Summit, the only stations recently active from Antarctica have been DP0GVN and VK0WN. VK0WN has only been spotted two times, both times between around 0500-0800 utc on 20 ssb. DP0GVN was spotted a few times working on 10 meter FT8 at various times. The USA Antarctic stations sometimes “listen” on 14.243 but none have been spotted in the last 30 days. VK0DX has been on a couple of times. K2RET caught him on 15 meter CW. Bob is the only SJDXA member to work Antarctica so far.
Working an Antarctica station counts for the “full monty” endorsement, not the basic achievement.
Here is the original announcement:
SJDXA members!
Announcing the new “Spring Continent Countdown Challenge”,
From 0000-UTC on April 1, 2022 through 2359-UTC June 30, 2022.
Work the following:
Work the following number of different DXCC entities for each Continent:
10 North America
9 Europe
8 South America
7 Africa
6 Asia
5 Oceania
If you work any continental Antarctica station, you can use it “one time” as a wild card for any of the above “if needed”.
If you can complete the entire challenge, including Antarctica, and you do not need to use Antarctica as a wild card, you will get a special 7 continent endorsement.
If you can work 10 different DXCC’s from each continent, in addition to working one Antarctica station, you will get another special endorsement called the “full monty”.
Sunspots are back! Have fun!
See ya’ in the Pileups!
73!
