SJDXA members,
We have a few things to cover today. So, bear with me.
- At our last meeting, we decided to make ZOOM meetings permanent for our regular meetings for the immediate future at least. Although the pandemic was the initial reason to hold our regular meetings on ZOOM, what has resulted is a high percentage of our members from outside the local area participating in our ZOOM meetings on a regular basis. At one recent meeting, we actually had 12 states represented. MA, CT, NY, PA, FL, NC, SC, AL, WI, TX, OR, NJ. It has become very apparent that ZOOM helps to keep us all in touch and could actually help us expand our membership. Tom N2XW has cordially allowed us to use his ZOOM account. Tom is the SNJ SM for the ARRL. He informed us that they may be changing to a different format in the future, but we can cross that bridge when we come to it.
- DUES. Its that time of year again. We collect dues annually to make it easier for our Treasurer W2ARP. Bob sent out a reminder. Thanks!
- Officers. The current officers have indicated that they are willing to continue in their positions for 2022. We’ll cover this and vote at our next meeting.
- Gathering at the site TOMORROW Tuesday November 30th. Although it will not be a regular meeting, I am planning to visit the club station tomorrow at 10:00 AM. If any members would like to join me, please let me know in advance. As already discussed, we will require that you are fully vaccinated, and masks are recommended. I don’t plan for this to be a long gathering, perhaps about an hour. It will be nice to see some of you, and to see how things look at the site again. Joel has got everything set up again. He and Bob N2HM also helped get the SJDXA antennas all in working order. All needed some repairs or other attention. I understand third hand that the GD 160 team has been getting their antennas arranged for the upcoming 160 contests with help from HM but I have not heard anything specific yet.
- 3Y0J support. At our last meeting, we agreed to support the Bouvet 3Y0J DXpedition with a $200 contribution.
That’s about all that I have right now.
Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving!
73!
