Desecheo DXpedition 2026 Update

Date/Time: March 1, 2026 22:00 UTC

Current Status

At this time, the team has made over 104,000 contacts and worked more than
20,000 unique callsigns. We are very pleased with the performance of our
operators and the reliability and efficiency of our fully solar-powered
Remote Deployment Unit.

As we approach our scheduled QRT date of March 3rd, we would like to
sincerely thank the worldwide Amateur Radio community and our generous
sponsors for their outstanding support, and for making this groundbreaking
low-power, fully solar-powered operation possible. We extend our deep
appreciation to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service for working closely with
us, granting permission for this activation, accompanying us to Desecheo,
and allowing our equipment to remain on the island for nearly two months.

Tomorrow (Monday), we will eliminate the standard daily QRT window in order
to maximize operating time. We will also reduce the overnight QRT time to
keep the station on the air as much as possible.
