[SJDXA] J62K Youth Adventure – 2027 Youth Selection Announcement

Hello SJDXA,

I wanted to share some exciting news regarding an initiative called the J62K Youth Adventure. Established to inspire and develop the next generation of contesters, the program provides promising young amateur radio operators with the opportunity to participate in world-class DX contesting from the internationally recognized J62K contest station on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia. Through immersive, hands-on participation, the program develops advanced operating skills, promotes excellence in contesting, and fosters lifelong engagement in amateur radio.

The goal of the J62K Youth Adventure is to become a lasting annual program. Now entering its fourth year, the program provides deserving young operators with an unforgettable opportunity to learn from experienced contesters in a world-class DX environment. At the same time, we're laying the groundwork for an even broader vision—an all-youth operating initiative that will expand opportunities for young amateur radio operators in the years ahead.
After receiving a record number of applications from talented young amateur radio operators, the J62K Youth Adventure Selection Committee has completed its selection process for the upcoming 2027 CQ WPX SSB J62K Youth Adventure. I'm pleased to share the attached announcement introducing this year's selected youth operators Haley Pendell (KE2EVX)and Hope Lea (ND2L).
I wanted to share this announcement with the SJDXA because I believe the club shares our commitment to mentoring and encouraging the next generation of amateur radio operators. I hope you'll enjoy following Haley's and Hope's journey, and I look forward to keeping the membership updated as the program continues to grow.
