Hi Steve,
Although I’m a member of SJDXA, my score for NJQP will go to the SJRA. This is part of an arrangement I made when I joined FRC; my Sweepstakes and NJQP scores would continue to go to SJRA. I’m the contest manager for SJRA and write a monthly column for the newsletter (which I have to do tonight), so I really need to contribute some scores there from time to time. I know of 2 other SJRA members: W2FDJ and W2JAZ. They will only have very modest scores.
You did very well and I’m impressed that you found 67 mults. I never heard MT, WY, NV, UT, or NM. All my VEs were VE3. Not even a single VE2, VE1, VO1, VE4,5,6,7. I worked a bunch of DX on 40 and 20 CW and wish we could claim more mults but it’s not a DX contest. Lali, OM2VL is a perennial entrant and I can always count on him for a couple Qs. It’s hard to believe how loud he is on 40m at 4pm here. My best DX was a YO8/LZ… station on 40m CW. I have the benefit of a 570’ beverage which really helps with EU on the lower bands. I got lucky and snagged KH6LC on 15m CW when it tried running there briefly early in the afternoon.
I think SJDXA has a chance at the gavel this year but Fairlawn Amateur Radio Club, and the Delaware Valley Radio Assoc. (W2ZQ) should not be discounted either.
I’m curious to see how Carol, N2MM did. She is a fierce competitor and usually does well in the NJQP.
I remember the years you were in NC and gave me so many Qs from there on just about any band and mode I was on. As I recall, you were the out of state winner several times. I really appreciated the spots and Qs you gave me back then.
When you and I chatted briefly last night on 40m SSB we were both taking a break from CW and said we’d be going back there shortly. I spotted you on 40m SSB as we talked. It occurred to me as I went back to CW that I could have done you more harm than good. Time spent making phone Qs is potentially CW Qs you don’t make at twice the points. LOL 😂 I think in reality, we had both drained the CW swamp and had to wait for more stations to get there.
Thanks again for the Qs and good luck to SJDXA in the race for the gavel.

Ok. Thanks to all for your participation in the NJQP.
I have the following scores:
KZ2I: 100,634 (on 3830scores.com)
N2OO: 29,328 (ditto)
K2RET: 12,012 (ditto)
KX1W: 11,954
WA2ACV: 874
for a rough total of 154,802
N2XW posted his qso totals but not final score, so that is still to be included.
Looking on 3830scores.com, I found two scores for SJRA (our nearest competitor):
KE2D: 111,142 (nuts! He beat me!)
KD2EPM: 18,060
for a rough total of 129, 202. Of course there may be other SJRA members that did not send their scores to 3830.
Any other SJDXA members out there I don’t know about? Don’t forget to send your entry in to the NJQP sponsor. Per the above, we have a lead for the gavel, but I’m not counting our chickens…
