SJDXA members,

The Old Barney ARC is having a club picnic and they have invited SJDXA
members to join them, especially since many SJDXA members are also members
of the Old Barney ARC.

For those of you who are not Old Barney ARC members, see below for details
on the picnic.

Also, I will be forwarding a very short survey from OBARC for those of you
who are not OBARC members. It only asks if you will be attending and how
many in your party. (OBARC members can respond via the OBARC message from
president Rick N2RPQ)

OBARC is supplying burgers and dogs. Donations are not required but will be
accepted. Other details are below.

So, if you would like to get together with your fellow SJDXA members as well
as members from the OBARC, come on down.

Regards,

Bob Schenck, N2OO

Subject: [OBARC] Family Picnic - July 18th

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you all saved the day for the Family Picnic on July 18th at A. Paul
King Park in Manahawkin. The hours will be from 12 noon - 4pm. Your entire
family is welcome!

There is a nice pavilion there that can hold up to 100 people. There is also
a new bigger grill that was put in recently.

Old Barney will supply hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, rolls,
condiments which we will be barbequing up for everyone. We ask that everyone
brings their own drinks and any snacks, salads, etc. that you may enjoy with
your meal.

Our permit does NOT allow for any alcohol. Drinks must be of the
non-alcoholic variety.

If you want to make something that is a specialty of your like a salad or
some side dish and share it you are welcome to but are not expected to.

Swimming is allowed in the lake, as long as there are lifeguards on duty
which I am told

will be the case. Of course the weather also has to allow swimming

I will be creating a survey later this morning. Please respond to it as to
whether or not you plan on attending and how many people will be in your
group. This is just so we can get an idea when it comes to purchasing the
food. If your party size changes that's ok. If something prevents you from
coming or better yet if you find out at the last minute that you can attend
that's all good also we will plan on extra food and cook as needed.

The idea of the picnic is to get out and be with our fellow members and
their families. We've all been through a rough last year and we need a
break. I'm hoping maybe we start a yearly tradition!

If you have a radio or some other piece of equipment you'd like to show
others feel free. Of course we can go mounting antennas and I'm not sure
there is power available but that doesn't mean you can't operate a HT or
maybe have some something cool that you want others to see. It is totally up
to you.

The theme of the day: "LETS HAVE A GOOD TIME!"

Since this is a new venture please feel free to email or call me with any
questions or ideas that help make this a great day! I hope everyone can
attend!
