To the SJDXA QSL team from the 2006 3Y0X DXpedition,
Someone is trolling some of our QSL team asking for log data. I don’t know if he is using our roster, or other old data to pick out QSL team members.
In any event, regardless of the “reasons” given for asking for this log data, We never give out log data. The QSL process requires the QSL Manager to match the log data provided to the actual DXpedition log. This is the same for the LoTW process as you all know. If the log that I keep here shows that a QSL was once processed in the past, that would prove to me that the person had provided log data at one time and a replacement QSL can be processed.
If anyone approaches you asking for log data, or for a QSL without providing log data, please either tell him that is not our policy, or just pass along to me.
I have heard so many reasons, and excuses over the years. Most are probably “made up”. But regardless, if everyone backed up their logs properly, or kept up their LoTW account, this would not be a problem.
Thanks everyone!
