Sandy was born January 17, 1944 in Bayville to John Laurence Harquist and Anna Mae Hartman Harquist.   Sandy was a lifelong resident of Long Beach Island. During her teenage years, she worked at the Hand’s Store in Beach Haven. She graduated from Southern Regional High School and attended Shore Beauty School in Egg Harbor Township.  Sandys obtained her Beautician license and worked at her mother’s salon in Beach Haven, Ann’s House of Beauty, among other beauty salons on LBI. Sandy worked at Family Restaurant and Charles Seafood Garden as a hostess, LBI.  Before retiring in 2010 “Miss Sandy” worked for the Long Beach Island School District, as the Cafeteria Manager, serving meals to the children.
