Count me in for daytime. That nighttime ride home to EHT is getting longer for this ole fart. Or quarterly meetings at night if we roundup any young whippersnappers that work for a living. (And you are right. Steve and Lance will be greatly missed.)
Also, Maybe during the nice weather, we could occasionally visit members’ stations for a byo lunch meeting.

> I looked over our membership roster and decided that only 2 of our members are still working. Neither has come to evening meetings in a very long time so I don’t expect them to come to daytime meetings either anyway.
> One is Ross W2TT but he said that he could make a “few” daytime meetings. (He hasn’t been to an evening meeting in ages) So, I could consider that an improvement even though he didn’t seem to be in favor of it. Kinda funny. The other is W2CCW who is still working although he has been on disability, so don’t know. He also has not been to a meeting in ages.
> On the plus side, we have several members who have expressed positive interest in daytime meetings. So far they are W2OB, K2TQN, K8PT, K2SG, N2HYG, W2TCR. Also, in the past I heard positive interest from KD2BOP, N4XAT. Also, N1IBM had not joined because he doesn’t drive at night either so he figured he couldn’t attend any meetings. And pretty much the rest I believe would be in the “don’t care which” category.
> Positive notes: We have some projects on the board. So, daytime meetings would help with those. Our weekly “lunch” crowd has dwindled. So, maybe only doing it in conjunction with a daytime meeting one time a month might bring more out for that. We could still do informal gatherings “whenever”.
> We also spoke about occasional weekend activities which could also be called meetings. These include such things as working on projects, doing a contest (full or part time), or simply doing an overnight of DXing? Might be fun to chase some DX on 160 outside of doing a contest once in a while when the antennas are up and functional?
> With the exception of Steve KI4KWR, SJDXA has never drawn much “youth” anyway since we are more aimed at DXing and some contesting which usually draws more experienced hams. So, in order to keep the door open for people still working, I would advertise that we will hold meetings and other activities at other times as warranted.
> Also to note, we are going to have a bit of a hit when we lose Steve KI4KWR and Lance N2OZ. Both have already made their move away, although we will probably see Steve once in a while, not sure about Lance. Both have been pretty darned active and valuable in the club.
> So, as of now I am thinking about gathering at the site perhaps in the late morning for a meeting, going out for lunch (or ordering something in) and leaving the afternoons open for working on projects as able. The actual day TBD. Probably the fourth Wednesday of each month?

I looked over the roster and it seems that nearly all of our members are probably available for daytime meetings, especially those who normally attend meetings. It would also make it easier for our members who prefer not to drive at night.
