Reminder
Meeting tomorrow morning
10 AM
At the site.

Notes: TBD. The Lloyd and Iris logs are now at the site. TNX Joel for the assist today. We will get our first look and will need to put our thinking hats on to come up with a plan.

The CQWW 160 SSB contest starts tomorrow at 5PM. We will discuss our operating strategy.
We now have 4 K3’s for the contest.
At the morning meeting, we will review our contest logging using Wintest, it is very similar to N1MM. We will review how the radio setup functions. We will be able to use F key voice keyer that actually accesses the voice memory channels in the K3. This will save vocal chords.
We will have access to either the array of beverages OR the HiZ 4 square for receive. We can also do diversity if we desire which means listening in one ear on the beverages and the other ear on the Hi Z. Pretty cool.

What we have learned is that we can pretty much stay on the NE transmit antenna until AFTER European sunrise. The NE works fine to the west for most QSOs that direction. But we will see how the transmit antennas are functioning first. After EU sunrise we can switch to the SW transmit antenna or Omni setting.

WE MIGHT NEED HEADSETS.
FYI, we must only use dynamic microphone elements and if a Heil, then only HC4 elements please. NO electret bias headsets please. Once the radio is setup , it stays.
The HC4 has the appropriate “CONTEST-PUNCH” needed.
An HC5 is far to bass.
As long as all headsets are the same, they can move around. We just need to be careful as we have learned in the past it’s very important.

If you plan to stay late or overnight, bring your own sleeping bag/blanket and pillow. Whatever works for you. It does get chilly in the back rooms.

We will order/pickup food. Joel stocked up the soda stock. Feel free to bring snacks to share.
Try to bring your favorite travel mug for coffee with a lid. If you don’t have one, we have some in the cabinet. Let’s not have any spills at the radio positions.

Other items we sometimes need are foot switch, Heil type hand trigger switch, we have some but nice to have extras. Two and three wire 1/4 phono splitters.

If I think of anything else I’ll let you know. Questions welcome anytime.
