I just heard 45 minutes ago.  I just spoke to him on New Years Day.  
 
So sorry to hear of his passing.  Great DXer and nice guy.  He will be missed.

Dave was co leader of many DXpeditions. SJDXA was involved with David with the VP8STI/VP8SGI DXpedition handling the QSL project for the team. Also, it was Dave who spearheaded the ET3AA project in 2011 that initiated my involvement with the Intrepid DX Association which he and Paul N6PSE ran. If I hear more information I’ll pass it along.
