Showers made things somewhat uncomfortable at times but our mission was accomplished.

While dismantling the TX array Tom and I found nothing unusual on or around the antenna components that would explain the odd tuning we encountered this season on the NE driven element. Everything 'looked' normal. Fortunately using antenna tuners solves the problem quite well.

All of the rx antenna coax cables, transformers and HI-Z items were collected from the woods and stored away in the shed. Last fall's 'pruning' to make paths through the brambles made navigation much easier.

Tom and I discovered some fraying on the NE tower rope. The spots were mostly surface damage caused by rubbing against something. We taped them all so perhaps we'll get another year or two of service from this 1/2 inch rope. Will inspect again in the fall.

Dan discovered minor critter damage (teeth marks) to the Hi-Z Four RG6 cabling (teeth marks) but none went all the way through (flooded cable apparently isn't very tasty. The white RG8X feedline to the low dipole didn't fair as well ... two full breaks were discovered but nothing that can't be mended.

With five people we completed the work in about 3 hours.

See everyone next October or early November.
