SJDXA members.
Steve KWR, N2HM and I have been throwing around some ideas for adding some antennas at the site. One of these has to do with the Force 12 EF317 three element 17 meter yagi that I own and that I am willing to donate to SJDXA. Force 12 no longer makes the EF317 design. But I have been in touch with Force 12 and they say that we can add three elements for 12 meters. They have agreed to provide the hardware with full instructions. Here is their last message. It is worth noting that there actually is a photo of what looks like an EF317 with 12 meter elements added on the Force 12 website, so it should be doable.

My thought is to install it on our NE tower behind the TA33 tower (which is the NW tower). We have rotors. We will need appropriate rotor cable (heavy gauge most likely) and RG213 coax and route through our rear coax feed box. Might also need to trim some trees from around the tower. Will have to look. Here is the message from Force 12:

Three 12 m elements with all mounting hardware to the boom, is $250.40 + shipping. There may be an older design we can use as a starting point for RF design. It can be parasitically fed (inductively coupled) off the 17 driven element.

To be discussed Wednesday at the meeting.

We have a few other ideas as well. Now would be the time to put together the hardware necessary for any Spring "pre-critter" projects.
