If you missed putting South Georgia into your log during the
<http://www.intrepid-dx.com/vp8/> VP8SGI DXpedition early this year, VP8DPK
is set to be active from the Southern Atlantic Island November 15-19.
Working him could be a challenge, however, as operator Chuck Pettis, W7AUM,
will be running low power on SSB into a minimal antenna.

VP8DPK was on the air for a few hours from the Falkland Islands on November
12, making 70 contacts "with a massive pileup" from the station of VP8LP in
Stanley. En route to South Georgia, he operated maritime mobile from the
bridge of the National Geographic Explorer.

After his scheduled VP8DPK operation from South Georgia, Pettis plans to
operate from various Antarctic Peninsula locations as W7AUM/P. When
portable, he may be running as little as 10 W to a wire antenna on a 30-foot
pole with a counterpoise. He plans to operate SSB on 40, 20, 17, 15, and 10
meters. Look for him around 7.285, 14.285, 21.285, and 28.385 or 28.885
MHz.QSL via W7AUM. - Thanks to <http://www.dailydx.com/> The Daily DX
