Both Mario (VP8ALJ) and I (David - K3LP) spent much time at the station last evening checking and to confirm the nature of the S15 Noise Level. From last nights checks, we confirmed no high level noise generated by the other towers and shelters.

This morning we returned to search why we had an S7-8 noise level during the sunset and sunrise periods for 160 meters. We were able to confirm and fix three issues; Qty 2 internet power adapters causing 3 S units of noise each plus the light in the building adding an additional 2 S units. At noon today, sunset and sunrise went down from S8 to S0 - YES!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, the only issue is we'll need to address to the normal thunderstorm atmospheric noise. Hopefully, the terrible storm we had last night and this morning has left the area.

Axel (DL6KVA) will be on 80 meters as VP8IDX or VP8KVA and I'll be on as VP8DRC 160 meters. Jay (K4ZLE - VP8ZLE)) will also be with us on 40 meters.

I hope we can bring some success this evening. This is not a formal dx-peditions, we are just trying to do something special since we are stuck waiting for our Saturday flights. We'll be using IC-7000, IC-718 and TS-590 with two solid-state amps.
