SJDXA QSL team members,
PLEASE! If you are not sure about ANYTHING, feel free to drop me an email,
or a call.
Refer back to my previous emails, or I will repost some.
Right now, the biggest thing to remember as you process QSL cards is to be
careful as you peel and stick labels. Take your time. Line up the labels
carefully. Think about each card as if it were one of your own. Navassa
cards will be cherished forever. So, keep them neat.
If you screw up, just set it aside and drop either me or your Sub Manager a
note and we can reprocess a label in a new batch.
Do not write on the QSL cards at all. DO not make corrections etc on the
cards. Place the confirmation stamp imprint stamp in the open area on the
right hand side of the label. It is OK to overprint operator's calls a
little. You do not have to imprint off the edge of the label/onto the card
itself.
ONLY use an official SJDXA confirmation stamp using red ink, either one of
mine with N2OO on it, or if you have one of your own.
If you would like one for yourself I can order one for you.
Let me know.
Also, I prefer that you use one of my return address stamps. But if one is
not available, you can use your own. Just be prepared for "return mail"
handling. PLEASE imprint the return address in the upper left corner of the
front of the envelope. Occasionally, the USPS processing scans the return
address if it is imprinted on the top rear.
You will see an "insert" which is a full color THANK YOU to the sponsors. It
has a nice photo on it and all of the major sponsors' logos, and calls, etc.
PLEASE insert this INSIDE the folded QSL card. Important. A long story. But
I promised we would do that. The NCDXF and INDEXA stuffers do not need to go
inside and can be folded if necessary. Scotch tape any envelopes that do not
seem secure. Sometimes, when you stuff a few QSLs in one envelope, you may
have to do this. Or if the self-stick doesn't seem to be sticking very well,
tape it.
When processing QSL's, be very careful to peel and stick ALL labels for a
call that appear on the sheet. Sometimes they will continue on the next
sheet. Keep your label sheets in order. A batch number SHOULD be printed on
the upper margin of the label sheets. NOTE: Sub managers (WS2C, W2CCW,
K2RET) always do this. Keep the labels in order, and mark the top margin
with the batch number from DXM before handing off these sheets to your
assistants.
Last for now, if for ANY reason you cannot get your QSLs processed in a
timely manner, please let someone know. We have plenty of folks who have the
time. And we want to get them all mailed fairly quickly.
Our goal for getting ALL OQRS DIRECT out into the mail will be May 4th at
the latest. Let's try to do that. Next will be the direct snail mail which
should be ready to go by then I hope.
Thanks to all for a fabulous effort!
See ya' in the Pileups!
