[SJDXA] Amplidier Project update

SJDXA members,

I received a proposal from one of our members regarding a way to keep the L7
and the new OM2000HF amplifiers.

However, after discussing this with our Treasurer last night, I really don't
see how we can do it.

Here are the numbers.

Our treasury has $1,810.76

We expect about $766.00 from the share of the estate items being sold by
K2RET. (Already sold)

So, our FULL suntotal will be around $2,586 once we get those funds.

We must pay for the OM2000HF amplifier now.

The cost is $2,790.00

 

We will also have an insurance bill coming soon. ($200) and we will need to
add the new amplifier to our equipment insurance.

 

There are also some "dues" that need to be collected, but that is only about
another $110.00 I am told.

Our "amplifier fund" that we were calculating had $988.02 in it as of April
21. Add the estate funds to that and the "fund" will have about $1700.00 in
it. And about $800 in the treasury.

So, as you can see, if we do not sell the Drake L7, we would be short about
$200+ and would have a zero balance in the treasury.

 

Even if a few members contributed some funds, we would still be "light".

However, if we sell the amplifier and get about $1,000 for it, we would have
ample funds for the year, as well as for some other projects.

And, we would have our full power amplifier in hand in the shack. We will be
picking it up in Dayton next week.

If an SJDXA member buys the L7, we could always attempt to buy it back later
when we have the funds. But no promises.

But the bottom line is that we must now pay for the new OM2000HF amplifier.

 

I am going to donate $100 to help cover this expense NOW. If anyone else has
a few bucks they would like to pass along, please send it to our Treasurer,
or touch base with him. Info follows:
