Hi Chuck,

We are currently going through a re org at work and my schedule is now busier than ever and I don't know if I will be able to attend the event though I will attempt to get a few hours in somewhere. Bob, weather has indeed been crazy and since the site does not have back up power, you bring up a valid concern in the contest world to keep going. My primary generator at home is too heavy to transport, but I do have a small secondary backup, a Honda EU2000i, which in reality turns about 14 amps at 120 volts. It would probably keep 2 rigs on in an SO2R configuration at 100 watts. I will fire it up this weekend under load.

It might make sense to have on site.

Can use W2ARP's rental as a backup.

Hi Chuck,
We will have Jeff's K3. I will fly in on Thursday and stay at W2OB QTH Thursday night. I will have a car and drive to the site Friday Morning to help with the set up and have the K3.
I will stay over night and crash at Randy's W2RDM QTH. If we are short handed I will nap next to the QEI ( the blue TX in the back room, for warmth).
I will bring my bag of tools in case we need repairs. Some of the CW gang will be at the site Friday, please make sure that we can get into the site.
One last thing can we have about 30 feet of number 12 wire pair. If we have a power failure due to the weather I can hook up my rental car with the # 12 to stay on the air with 100 watts.

See you Friday
Bob W2ARP

  Good morning all,

The 160m CQWW SSB contest is quickly approaching. We need to find out what rigs we will have to operate. I will have my IC-725 for the slave station. We have the SJDXA FT-1000 also. Do we still have a K-3 available for us to use? Bob W2ARP, do you know anything about this? Just trying to get an idea so we know if we will need to obtain a rig. Also if possible, I would like to start taking a tentative head count of operators. I will be good for friday overnight and possibly saturday overnight. We will need operators for all parts of the day.

  Thank You,

  Chuck, W2CCW
